Wear It Pink Day!

Every year we take part in Wear It Pink for breast cancer awareness. This year we went well and truly over the top!

Our home was transformed over night with a hint of pink everywhere you looked! Pink bunting hung from the ceilings, pink balloons where set up on the tables and even our icecream machine was churning pink ice cream!

Everyone wore their best pink outfits with all our staff making a fabulous effort, some even sporting pink hair!

This year we held a brilliant raffle with prizes being generously donated by Jeanette Thompson, All Seasons Florist and Wendy Scentsy, amongst many more. We was so proud to raise a whopping £262, our highest yet!

Remembrance Sunday

Grosvenor House was invited to lay a wreath of our village war memorial which we are very proud to sponsor and maintain its upkeep. We was extremely honoured to take part in the moving service in which we remember all those that we have lost.

Joining us was Maud, Violet and Glyn, who all recounted stories of their own personal memories of the war when they were young.

Violet, our very own Woman of Steel told us of her time at the steelworks being a crane driver, one of only two women who was allowed at the time!

Bonfire Night Spectacular!

We wasn’t going to let the current situation of Covid-19 stop us from celebrating Bonfire Night!

It wouldn’t of been Bonfire Night without a traditional tea of freshly baked pies from Oxleys Butchers in Gainsborough with mushy peas and mint sauce (and washed down with a glass or two of mulled wine)!

The amazing fireworks began at 7pm at lit up the sky whilst we all watched in utter awe! Bang after bang, everyone was fixated!

It was said that it was one of the best nights that we have had and that the fireworks were absolutely spectacular! Here’s to next year!
