Welcome to your December 2020 care home newsletter.
Reporting on the latest news from Grosvenor House Care Home.
We have been gathering information from this past month to reflect on the feedback we have received and to capture what we have been doing. This month we have;
- logged 380 activity care notes
- began preparing for the covid 19 vaccine
- adapted and continued out marquee visiting
- planned a fun-filled Christmas activity calendar
- celebrated a 104th birthday!
and much much more!
2020 has been difficult for so many of us, which is exactly why we decided to bring Christmas to Grosvenor House a little early this year!
Our home has been completely transformed with different themes in different lounges and with the spirit of Christmas running through our corridors.
Christmas is going to look a little different this year at Grosvenor House as the pandemic means we have to change things slightly, however that certainly does not mean that Christmas will be any less special! We have lots of exciting things planned for the festive period including Christmas baking, our very own Christingle, Christmas choir and festive movie afternoons. We cannot wait to show you what we have been up to!
The new additions!
After the incredible response and endless hours of fun we have had with our chickens we began thinking about the next perfect addition…
After much research we finally decided on finding a couple of Pygmy Goats! They make the perfect companion due their incredibly gentle and friendly nature but they also make great friends with chickens! It was a no brainer!
After finding a reputable farm to provide us with Pygmy Goats, they gave us a selection to chose from. It look a lot of consideration to finally chose these 3 adorable kids! They are due to join our family early February, and we cannot wait!
The next big task we have is choosing their names! If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them.
We would like to reassure all of our families that despite the new restrictions that will be implemented on 2nd December that we will be continuing to facilitate visiting in a Covid secure way.
The designated visitors that have been set up and the most recent visiting structure will continue to apply and this will reviewed each week and amended as needed.
We understand how difficult this time is for every one especially in the run up to Christmas. Which is why we will continue to do all we can to keep you connected with your loved ones.
