I would like to thank you all for the care you gave to my Dad during his time at Grosvenor House and especially during the last few weeks of his life. Dad was treated with compassion and dignity during his illness and I was moved by the care that was shown to him.  I was also moved by the way in which the staff cared for us as we spent time with Dad during his last week, with offers of food and drink, and time to spend talking with us and advising us.

Grosvenor must surely set the standard for how all care homes should be run.

Please accept our donation for something you would all like with my thanks and gratitude for being the people you are.

Nearly 4 years ago, Mum struggled back to her chair and said “ you will have to find somewhere for me”…… Barbara came round that night.  Mum moved into Grosvenor House the next day.

Thanks to the care of the carers and the friendships of the friends there, she blossomed and I have sure enjoyed a superb quality of life in her last years. We are so grateful for all that you did for her…and for us.

The highest praise to you and all at the highest recommendation for Grosvenor Care Home.  We will certainly be spreading the word….the best home within 30miles of Gainsborough (we know we researched it at length)”

Thank you all for how fabulously you treated my father. Stuart was with you not much more than a year, but it felt so much longer to me, and I think of Grosvenor House as his home – as I know he did. Having been somewhat reluctant to be a resident to start with – to say the least, Stuart soon felt loved and respected.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to you all for making his time with you so enjoyable, and for providing a level of dignity, even during the hardest of times, which has left me and I am sure, Stuart, with fond memories. It still seems strange on a drive over to Gainsborough, not to be popping in, where I was always guaranteed a warm welcome and a mug of tea. I think the level of care you provided Stuart with was fabulous.  He was treated as an individual and I know he appreciated that.

Stuart could be stubborn and offensive, and often went out of his way to be so – he certainly would not apologise for it, but you seemed to understand his “ways” and whilst dodging the punches, accepted him with good humour!  I cannot thank you enough. All your professionalism and heartfelt care has resulted in turning what could have been an awful, painful year, into a peaceful, stress-free one. I am so glad we found Grosvenor House for Stuart.  The fact I have a smile on my face when I remember the time spent there, considering how unwell he was, rather than feelings of sadness, shows us how well he was looked after, and led to him feeling safe and happy so quickly.

Thanks for looking after my Dad so well – I will always remember your kindness

I would like to thank all of you at Grosvenor House for the care, kindness and compassion given not only to Mum but also to me over the past two and a half years and more especially in the last 3 very difficult weeks. I do not know how you all do what you do day after day and with often little thanks. I am so very grateful to you all more than you will ever know and it is only with all your support I have been able to get through this.

Thank you all once again.

We feel the need to tell everybody about the exceptional care our sister Grace is enjoying at Grosvenor House. We cannot emphasise enough how all the stresses and strains of the last few years have been forgotten since Grace became a member of the Grosvenor House family. Every time we or other family members come to visit her she seems somehow to have regained all the fun, laughter, singing and dancing of her yesteryears, there is real warmth and compassion in this home. Our sister has made so many new friends in the Grosvenor House community; we have to laugh when she tells us she cannot stop and gossip all day as she has got friends to see. It is the whole team at Grosvenor House that have made Grace’s later life so enjoyable. We cannot even to start to count how many times the staff have gone that extra mile, for Grace and the whole of her family. Grosvenor House is just a lovely experience for everybody!

I would like to thank everybody at Grosvenor House for marking my stay with you such a pleasure; it really was a pleasure to be with you. I was made to feel really welcome, always greeted with a smile and a cheerful word. I would have no hesitation about coming again. Over the last 4 years, I have been in 4 different care homes and Grosvenor House is certainly top of the list – streets ahead of the others.
Tea was available from 6:00am and the choice of food was good, well served in nice china. I had a nice big room which looked out over fields and farmland with nothing to block the view; I watched wagtails feeding their babies! Everyone was warm and comforting and I enjoyed being with you.

Thank you over and over again for being so kind and welcoming.

I chose Grosvenor House for my Mum four years ago after viewing several other nursing homes in the area. I chose it because of the good ‘feel’ I got the first time I was shown around as well as the personal recommendations given by families of previous residents. At that point, I little realised how I would be embraced into the ‘Grosvenor family’! It became apparent that not only were Mum’s nursing and care needs well taken care of but that there was a huge amount of motivation and stimulation provided through the wide range of activities, many of which I am able to take part in too. Far too numerous to mention, these include sing songs, quizzes, holy communion, mental and physical motivation sessions, craft activities of many kinds and themed days to coincide with what is happening in the wider world; ‘wear it pink day’, the royal wedding, Christmas panto etc etc etc.

I have made friends with staff, residents and families of residents because of the ‘family feel’ of this great place and value the comment from senior management referencing facilities and services for residents that ‘this is their home’. My Mum’s increasing needs are met by a consistent care team who know and understand her specific needs and preferences and I am confident as she becomes more frail, that she is in the best  possible place receiving the best possible care. I thank you all.

We want to thank you and all your staff for the care our mother received at Grosvenor House.  Although she was only with you a short time, the care shown by your staff was exemplary. They befriended her very quickly and showed her real warmth alongside their professional duties.  This meant so much to her and us. She felt safe and as content as she could in the circumstances.

I know I have said on many occasions how grateful I was for the outstanding care I received while at Grosvenor House but I would like to formally say how outstanding your staffs are.  Thank Barbara for me she certainly is an Admiral of the Ship. I will spread the word!
