A wide range of care home facilities

Grosvenor House is a purpose-built care home which has recently been extended, upgraded and refurbished. It stands in newly-landscaped gardens which provide paved patio areas for wheelchair users. As well as a sensory garden with raised planters, sun awnings for shade during the warmer weather, along with lawns, and plant features.

The new block paved car park provides ample car parking spaces, and all rooms and entrances provide easy access to wheelchairs.

Tastefully decorated rooms

The majority of our 41 bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and all are tastefully decorated. We provide first-class furnishings and fittings that exceed typical care standards, and our residents are also welcome to bring their own personal furnishings and belongings to feel right at home.

All upgraded bedrooms are provided with TV aerial and telephone points, and each en-suite is equipped with disabled facilities. Some rooms also include a fitted shower.

As well as each room having en-suite facilities, there are also WCs and assisted bathrooms fully equipped throughout the home.

Thank you all for how fabulously you treated my father. Stuart was with you not much more than a year, but it felt so much longer to me, and I think of Grosvenor House as his home – as I know he did. Having been somewhat reluctant to be a resident to start with – to say the least, Stuart soon felt loved and respected.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to you all for making his time with you so enjoyable, and for providing a level of dignity, even during the hardest of times, which has left me and I am sure, Stuart, with fond memories. It still seems strange on a drive over to Gainsborough, not to be popping in, where I was always guaranteed a warm welcome and a mug of tea. I think the level of care you provided Stuart with was fabulous.  He was treated as an individual and I know he appreciated that.

Stuart could be stubborn and offensive, and often went out of his way to be so – he certainly would not apologise for it, but you seemed to understand his “ways” and whilst dodging the punches, accepted him with good humour!  I cannot thank you enough. All your professionalism and heartfelt care has resulted in turning what could have been an awful, painful year, into a peaceful, stress-free one. I am so glad we found Grosvenor House for Stuart.  The fact I have a smile on my face when I remember the time spent there, considering how unwell he was, rather than feelings of sadness, shows us how well he was looked after, and led to him feeling safe and happy so quickly.

Thanks for looking after my Dad so well – I will always remember your kindness

Four lounges offer different experiences

The Grosvenor House is laid out so that our residents can experience the ebb and flow of our little community.

Our lounges to the front of the building offer residents a perfect view of the comings and going of the village. Whilst the two lounges to the rear offer sunny views looking out to Thunock Hills, and the peace of a private garden.

With bi-fold glass doors, full-height windows overlooking the patio area, south-facing gardens, and automatic sun awnings, our residents can enjoy the sun without glare and overheating.

We also have high definition flat-screen televisions and DVD players to provide indoor entertainment, as well as a library and quiet room.

We actively encourage you to come to Grosvenor

Not only are visitors always welcome, but they are actively encouraged to come to Grosvenor House.

Our tea bar is now open and ready to welcome visitors. Whatever takes your fancy; chocolates, savoury or sweet snacks, hot and cold drinks and even some delicious Ben & Jerry’s ice creams – we have them on offer 24 hours a day.

Within this special little corner of Grosvenor House, visitors are encouraged and always very welcome to enjoy their visit. All the profits from the proceeds of the tea bar go to the resident’s fund at Grosvenor House.

We are always involved in local activities and community network, we are constantly improving on the way we offer outstanding care and support.

Upcoming events

Our previous post mentions our lovely Cheq, but we feel she definitely deserves her very own post. She has provided some words for an article which will be published in The Gainsborough Standard and i think they capture PERFECTLY why we are so lucky to have her as a member of Our Grosvenor House Family.

“To be chosen by Denise my manager, and the owner Chris and Lauren as some one who they feel has gone above and beyond for Grosvenor House Care Home is an Honour and a privilege. But if im to be really honest Im no one special, I just do my job that I love to do that I’m made to do….look after and care for my residents all 40+ of them! !! I am a carer…….. and they are my Grosvenor family and I love them all as just that…my extended family.
Working during the Covid Crisis for me personally has been one of the hardest and stressful times I’ve gone through but one of the most rewarding.

The constant worry of Covid getting into our Care home, has reduced me to tears on more than one occasion and not being at home with my family so I can be with my Grosvenor family has been really hard but my husband and daughter have supported me all the way. I volunteered without hesitation to be on the covid team in case it got in, my residents already couldn’t see their family, if the worst should happen I couldn’t stand the thought of them going through this without a familiar voice or face. But luckily we have been Covid free through out this challenging time, and that is down to the amazing staff.

Our home went into lock down before the country went into lockdown to protect our residents from the Corona virus. So we stepped up not as individuals but as a team to fill the void that our residents had with not seeing their family. Putting on extra activities and putting extra ompf in our smiles to keep their spirits up and keep them from feeling what was and is still going on outside. As well as extra precautions for their health and safety, which Grosvenor staff rose to with very high standard. Seeing the residents Laugh and smile, having fun and enjoying themselves fills my heart with a feeling that you cant put into words, its out of this world. From dressing up as a unicorn and singing and dancing to dressing up as the Easter bunny seeing them happy means that I’ve done my job.

To me caring isn’t a job for a wage, it’s a job you do for the love and passion of looking after others, its not something you just do, its something that has to be felt from the heart. And its not something I can do alone, I am the carer I am because of the love and support from not only my family but the wonderful staff at Grosvenor House. “

HEROS OF 2020!

Today we have had a little party as a very special thankyou to our very own Hero’s of 2020.

Each and everyone of our staff members deserve all of the thankyou’s in the world for all of the care, love and support they offer every single day.

We have all enjoyed a delicious buffet by Zenas Top Nosh, and judging by all of the empty trays it certainly went down a treat!

Even though all of our staff are brilliant, we decided to give a special mention to our lovely Cheq! The care and love she provides is nothing short of outstanding. So thankyou Cheq for being part our Grosvenor House Family.

Monday 6th July, we started our chick hatching programme!

Our eggs and incubator were delivered by the brilliant Living Eggs Company and we set everything up ourselves.

We are so excited for the next few days where our chicks will hatch and we get to watch them grow and care for them. Not only that, but we intend to keep our chicks for the long haul and let them have a happy life here at Grosvenor House!

Keep your eyes peeled for our chick updates!
