A wide range of care home facilities

Grosvenor House is a purpose-built care home which has recently been extended, upgraded and refurbished. It stands in newly-landscaped gardens which provide paved patio areas for wheelchair users. As well as a sensory garden with raised planters, sun awnings for shade during the warmer weather, along with lawns, and plant features.

The new block paved car park provides ample car parking spaces, and all rooms and entrances provide easy access to wheelchairs.

Tastefully decorated rooms

The majority of our 41 bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and all are tastefully decorated. We provide first-class furnishings and fittings that exceed typical care standards, and our residents are also welcome to bring their own personal furnishings and belongings to feel right at home.

All upgraded bedrooms are provided with TV aerial and telephone points, and each en-suite is equipped with disabled facilities. Some rooms also include a fitted shower.

As well as each room having en-suite facilities, there are also WCs and assisted bathrooms fully equipped throughout the home.

The Whitby Spa

Everyone enjoys a relaxing bath. For some, this is a luxury which is no longer achievable.
At Grosvenor Care we will it is important for everyone to be able to enjoy this special experience and encourage all of our residents to regularly enjoy a Whitby Spa experience.

Hydrotherapy for all

Our Whitby Spa contains a hydrotherapy bath which works to relieve the stresses and strains on muscles and joints. While in a weightless environment, your body can enjoy the experience of hydro-jets which give the body exercise at various levels.

Gabby the parrot

Meet Gabby! She is our residential parrot, Gabby joined the Grosvenor Care team back in January and our residents and visitors love her. She is a real asset and our residents take great comfort in having her around. At the young age of 25, she will hopefully be with us for many years to come.

Four lounges offer different experiences

The Grosvenor House is laid out so that our residents can experience the ebb and flow of our little community. We really pride ourselves on our care home facilities.

Our lounges to the front of the building offer residents a perfect view of the comings and going of the village. Whilst the two lounges to the rear offer sunny views looking out to Thunock Hills, and the peace of a private garden.

With bi-fold glass doors, full-height windows overlooking the patio area, south-facing gardens, and automatic sun awnings, our residents can enjoy the sun without glare and overheating.

We also have high definition flat-screen televisions and DVD players to provide indoor entertainment, as well as a library and quiet room.

We actively encourage you to come to Grosvenor

Not only are visitors always welcome, but they are actively encouraged to come to Grosvenor House.

Our tea bar is now open and ready to welcome visitors. Whatever takes your fancy; chocolates, savoury or sweet snacks, hot and cold drinks and even some delicious Ben & Jerry’s ice creams – we have them on offer 24 hours a day.

Within this special little corner of Grosvenor House, visitors are encouraged and always very welcome to enjoy their visit. All the profits from the proceeds of the tea bar go to the resident’s fund at Grosvenor House.

Thank you all for how fabulously you treated my father. Stuart was with you not much more than a year, but it felt so much longer to me, and I think of Grosvenor House as his home – as I know he did. Having been somewhat reluctant to be a resident to start with – to say the least, Stuart soon felt loved and respected.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to you all for making his time with you so enjoyable, and for providing a level of dignity, even during the hardest of times, which has left me and I am sure, Stuart, with fond memories. It still seems strange on a drive over to Gainsborough, not to be popping in, where I was always guaranteed a warm welcome and a mug of tea. I think the level of care you provided Stuart with was fabulous.  He was treated as an individual and I know he appreciated that.

Stuart could be stubborn and offensive, and often went out of his way to be so – he certainly would not apologise for it, but you seemed to understand his “ways” and whilst dodging the punches, accepted him with good humour!  I cannot thank you enough. All your professionalism and heartfelt care has resulted in turning what could have been an awful, painful year, into a peaceful, stress-free one. I am so glad we found Grosvenor House for Stuart.  The fact I have a smile on my face when I remember the time spent there, considering how unwell he was, rather than feelings of sadness, shows us how well he was looked after, and led to him feeling safe and happy so quickly.

Thanks for looking after my Dad so well – I will always remember your kindness

“Having one option leaves you with no choice, have 2 options is a dilemma but having 3 options gives you choice.”

Being free to make your own choices is so important to maintain our skills and promote independance amongst people of all ages!

With this in mind, this week we introduced our “Grosvenor Express” We filled a shopping trolley to the brim with a variety of things from shampoo to brioche, to nail varnish to pot noodles! All of the things our residents said that they loved.

Each week we will take the Grosvenor Express round to everyone for them to make their own choice of things that they need, or simply just fancy!

The first week went down a treat judging by the empty trolley at the end of the day!

“Food may be essential as fuel for the body, but good food is essential as fuel for the mind!”

This is something we definitely live by here at Grosvenor House! Not only do we freshly prepare ALL of our homemade meals every day, we also believe it is important to open up all of our senses with a variety of different textures, smells and tastes!

This week we brought France to Grosvenor House in the form of wine, cheese, nibbles and music!

Judging by the empty bottles, clean plates and big smiles, we all had a lovely afternoon!
