Care Home Nutrition
The Heart of Our Home
We never rely on external catering. Instead, we cook everything fresh on-site, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.
Our incredible chef brings not only decades of culinary experience but a deep understanding of the nutritional needs of elderly adults. This includes how appetite, taste and nutritional needs evolve and change with age, ensuring exceptional care home hospitality.
Every morning, the kitchen is filled with the incredible smell of freshly baked bread, alongside a range of meals tailored to individual preferences. Our chef creates a weekly menu that considers feedback and requests from everyone in our home.
Food that tastes as good as it looks
From elegant fine dining and Sunday roasts, to homemade pastries and world cuisine – Grosvenor House Care Home provides something to excite every palate.

Meals that Support Health & Independence
Nutrition in later life isn’t just about food; it’s about energy, immune support, mental wellbeing, and much more. The people we support benefit from meals rich in essential nutrients such as protein, calcium and fibre, as well as vitamins D and B12, which are particularly important in older age.
Our kitchen team is trained to support a wide range of dietary requirements without compromising on taste. This includes:
- Soft food and texture-modified diets
- Fortified meals to aid weight gain and energy
- Diabetic-friendly and low-sugar options
- Gluten-free, allergy-aware and vegetarian diets
Every dish is created with enjoyment and health in mind. We see food as an opportunity to restore, connect, and support every stage of life with purpose.

Meals are one of the most anticipated parts of the day, not just for nourishment, but for enjoying good company. Our dining areas are welcoming and thoughtfully designed to make the most of sharing lunch with friends or celebrating with families.
Family and loved ones are always welcome to join us for meals, whether to celebrate a special occasion or spend time together enjoying great food.
Because our chef loves baking delicious breads and desserts alongside meals – including real Jersey soft serve ice cream! We often have the opportunity to delight our home care patients with care packages. We do this because we want everyone we support to be able to enjoy the tasty treats coming from our kitchen.
Going Beyond the Basics
Our approach to nutrition is rooted in care, skill and a genuine love of food. From the professional-grade equipment in our kitchen to the thoughtful presentation on each plate, we treat every meal as an opportunity to uplift those in our care.
Our drinks offering is equally high-quality. It includes freshly Brita-filtered and chilled sparkling and still water from a Zip flowing tap, as well as a wide choice of cordials.
We also have a coffee machine that offers bean-to-cup high-grade tunki bean coffee, flavoured syrups, and a variety of other incredible warm drinks. We have managed to bring the high street cafe experience to our home.
Whether it’s breakfast in bed, a light supper in the garden, or a celebratory dinner with family, our kitchen is always ready to adapt to the needs of everyone we support.

Why Nutrition Matters
As we age, our bodies process nutrients differently. It’s common for appetite to decrease, taste buds to change, and chewing or digestion to become more difficult.
That is why care home nutrition requires more than standard meal prep; it requires thoughtful, skilled planning. Studies show that good nutrition in older age can improve memory, boost mood, reduce the risk of falls, and enhance recovery from illness.
We take these insights seriously. Nutrition is part of our care planning process, and it is reviewed regularly in accordance with medical needs and lifestyle changes. We work with families, GPs and specialists to ensure every individual receives the right nutrional support, every day.
